Slip House is just a simple home with unique contemporary design; it consists of 3 levels decorated in such a way to make the 3rd level looks like has been ‘slipped out’ from its place. The small, narrow and tall building minimized the land used, and the simple decoration simplifies the construction progress, make it easier and faster to be constructed. The facade may look strange with the horizontal patterned concentrate wall and some wide windows in it, but it gives a unique appearance to the design. The wide windows treatment also act on its sustainability feature, allowing the natural light fills in the entire house interior and decrease the artificial light usage. This unique sustainable contemporary house also has some other futuristic feature to maintain its sustainability, such as the solar assisted ground heat pump that stores the heat for the house and maintain the house temperature with less energy; rainwater harvest system to minimize the water usage; and the mechanic ventilation to change the rooms temperature based on the ventilation’s wide.
The interior of this home is rather simple and clean, but yet still full of decoration to avoid the plain looks. The soft-colored materials were used, with less color contrast and focused on the unique pattern in every corner of the house. The brown color with rough pattern on furniture and wall gives blends perfectly with the grey shades on accent wall and the floor, creates a peaceful atmosphere in the interior. There is less furniture inside, so the spacious feel can be seen along the open plan of the house.
